What is Uninvested Cash in Treasury?

Updated yesterday

Vivid Money B.V. provides you with a separate section for funds to be used for trading. The Uninvested Cash section contains a few separate balances inside your Treasury that represents funds available for trading crypto and classical investment assets. This is different from the Uninvested Cash in your Interest Account. These funds are securely allocated either to QMMF (Qualifying Money Market Funds, for classical assets) or EURC (euro-backed stablecoin, for crypto) in order to comply with safeguarding requirements.

What can I do with Uninvested Cash?

You can:

  • Deposit funds into Uninvested Cash at any time from your money account.

  • Withdraw funds from Uninvested Cash back to your money account.

  • Buy or sell appropriate assets using the available balance.

How do I trade using Uninvested Cash?

When placing a buy or sell order, you will be able to:

  • in your Treasury, select Uninvested Cash as your funding source,

or

  • keep trading direct from your money accounts.

If you select to use your balance from the Uninvested Cash section:

  • The order will be executed directly using the available money in Uninvested Cash.

  • You will see one transaction in your timeline: the buy or sell order.

If you choose to trade using your money accounts, don’t worry — your experience won’t change! In that case:

  • We will first transfer the required amount from your money account into the Uninvested Cash section of your Treasury.

  • Then we will place the buy or sell order using that amount.

So essentially, when you pass the order, you give us the authorisation to manage the transfer for you automatically. In the app, this will be reflected as a double Order Confirmation and two separate operations in your Timeline: one for the transfer and one for the crypto transaction.

Why are there few Uninvested Cash balances?

To comply with safeguarding requirements, Vivid Money B.V. needs to clearly segregate funds used for trading classical investment assets and funds used for crypto trading. Thus, different balances are used for trading different types of assets. There are no financial benefits or impacts to customers of using the Uninvested Cash section. Some customers may prefer to use the Uninvested Cash section and others may prefer to keep trading direct from their money accounts through double order confirmation and transfer to Treasury.

Are there any fees for using Uninvested Cash?

No. Deposits and withdrawals between your money account and Uninvested Cash are free of charge.

Where can I find Uninvested Cash?

You will see a dedicated section inside your Treasury. If the balance is 0, the section is collapsed by default; if it holds funds, it will be shown expanded.
