What is Cash Management?

Cash Management brings your business cash together in one place. It shows you how much money your business holds and how it is spread across your accounts, and it lets you automate the transfers you would otherwise make by hand.

You will find it in the Cash Management section of your Vivid Business account.

Two tabs

  • Overview — a dashboard showing your total balance, what your money has earned, how your cash is allocated, and recommendations for putting idle cash to work.

  • Transfer rules — where you set up automatic transfers between your own Vivid accounts.

How your accounts are grouped

Your accounts are sorted into three types:

Type

Accounts included

What it is for

Operating

Money Accounts, in any currency

Day-to-day payments — money you need within 60 days

Reserve

Interest Accounts with a fixed rate

Your safety cushion — money you may need within 6 months

Strategic

Model Portfolios, Business Brokerage and Crypto Earn accounts

Long-term money — 6 months and beyond

A few things worth knowing:

  • The grouping happens automatically, based on the type of account. You cannot move an account from one group to another.

  • Each account belongs to exactly one group.

  • Uninvested cash inside an Business Brokerage or Crypto Earn account follows the account it sits in so it counts as Strategic.

Who can use Cash Management?

  • The Overview tab is available on every plan.

  • Transfer rules are available on Enterprise, Enterprise (Company) and Pro + (Freelancer) plans.

    • Within your team, only members with the Owner or Admin role can create, edit or delete transfer rules. Other team members who can see the Transfer rules tab can view your rules, but not change them.
