Can I participate in corporate actions?

Updated yesterday

Yes, when you trade traditional investment products via Treasury, you may be eligible to participate in certain corporate actions.

At the moment, Vivid Money B.V. facilitates:

  • Cash dividends

  • Stock dividends

  • Stock splits (direct and indirect)

Other types of corporate actions are not yet supported, but may become available in the future.

Does Vivid Money B.V. pay dividends?

Yes. If you are entitled to receive dividends from the assets you hold, they will be credited to your Treasury within two business days after Vivid Money B.V. receives them from the issuer.

Kindly note that taxation will, in most cases, already be withheld by the issuing company and can be reclaimed in your annual tax return. Dividend tax is levied on companies that pay dividends to their shareholders. Dividend income from shares in the United States is typically subject to a withholding tax rate of 30%. You should always review the potential tax implications for your specific situation, as Vivid Money B.V. does not provide tax advice under any circumstance.

How do dividends work with ETFs?

The dividend treatment depends on the type of ETF:

  • Accumulating ETFs (ACC) – the fund manager automatically reinvests any dividends back into the fund at no extra cost.

  • Distributing ETFs (DIST) – dividends are paid out to you in cash, and you can use these funds as you prefer.
