Can I pay taxes to Spanish authorities with my Vivid card?

Can I pay my taxes without hitting spending limits?

Yes. Payments to Spanish public tax authorities are excluded from the card spending limits applied according to your tariff plan.

This covers city councils, provincial councils, tax agencies, the State Tax Agency (AEAT), Hacienda, and property/commercial registries.

Which payments are covered?

Tax and duty payments to Spanish government bodies, including:

  • City councils and municipalities (Ayuntamiento, Ajuntament)

  • Provincial councils (Diputación)

  • Tax agencies and administration (Agencia Tributaria, ATIB)

  • State Tax Agency — AEAT

  • Treasury offices (Hacienda)

  • Property and commercial registries (Registro de la Propiedad, Registro Mercantil)

  • Fees, duties and taxes (Tasas, Impuestos)

Please note: the exclusion applies only to recognised Spanish public tax merchants. Other payments still count towards your normal limits.

Do I need to do anything to enable this?

No. The exclusion is applied automatically. Just pay as usual.
