What are the costs and limits associated with using a payment terminal?

Updated today

It is totally free to order a payment terminal. However, fees are applied in certain situations as well as the fee applied to each card transaction using the payment terminal.

Transaction fees

For each transaction made using the payment terminal, a fee is charged based on your tariff plan and the type of card that is charged. Please refer to our pricing schedule here for the full breakdown.

Early return fee

When you complete the payment terminal onboarding, you agree to renting the terminal on a 12-month contract. It is free but if you cancel the contract early, you will be charged EUR 20 for each unused month and cover the shipping costs.

For example, if you begin your 12 month contract in January and decide to return the terminal in July, you will pay EUR 20 x 5 remaining months = EUR 100 (plus shipping costs).

Minimum turnover fee

If your turnover across all your Vivid payment terminals is under EUR 10,000 in a calendar month, you will be charged EUR 20. If you do not meet this condition during the initial setup month, you will not be charged.

Failure to return fee

If you decide to stop using your terminal or close your Vivid account, you must return the terminal to Vivid. See the details here on how to return the terminal to Vivid.

If you do not return your payment terminal, the cost for this is EUR 320 + VAT per terminal.

Limits

There is a limit of EUR 5,000 per transaction with the payment terminal and a monthly limit of EUR 100,000.
